Highlights: Unique and fast paced strategy, replayable - lots of variability with different armies and two different game modes in 3 player games, 3.0 version has solid art, and there are many expansions already released which adds more armies and more variability to the game (although I cant find any being sold anywhere nearby in Canada. The upcoming release comes in an expanded box with an insert to hold 19 of Neuroshima Hex’s factions, along with HQ. And I’m always down to check out a new army for this great dueling game. I figured with the release of Monolith Arena, Portal Games would be focusing on that game instead.But, as I own Neuroshima Hex and not that one, I was happy to see that was not the case. It is not for everybody (as some people have no interest in skirmish games), but after trying it, I understand why it has been published and re-published, and why so many people enjoy this game. Neuroshima Hex 3.0: Year of Moloch Edition takes its name from the Skynet-like AI responsible for the world’s slide into a war between machines and humanity after the self-aware Moloch’s uprising on September 5th 2020. I was a little surprised to see a new Neuroshima Hex army come across my review stack. If you are looking for a tactical skirmish game, this is probably the one that you should try first.
